The Sydney Royal Easter Show came to a spectacular close last night with the traditional Dairy Farmers Fireworks & Laser finale.
Over the 14 days of the show had over over 900,000 people come through our gates. 140,000 Dagwood Dogs, 34,000 scones and 11 tonnes of fruit salad were eaten and over 3 tonnes of fireworks were fired as 10,560 individual computer fireworks cues.
The Howard & Sons Pyrotechnics crew had a great time, whilst working hard behind the scenes, each day to produce the nightly fireworks finale on the main arena. Andrew Howard would produced the show with Stuart Bensley, Darren Roberts and Cie Komene was delighted with the show. “This years show has been very well received and enjoyed by the huge crowds and that’s what we set out to achieve each year. We wanted to come up with a theme that represents the ideals of the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW and also Dairy Farmers, and I think we did that.” Andrew said.
This years show was titled ‘Four Seasons in Australia’ and featured pyrotechnics fired from 15 positions on the arena, 5 lasers all perfectly synchronised to music from the movie ‘Australia’, Moby, Crowded House and concluded with Tchaikovsky’s ‘Waltz of the Flowers’.
“The fireworks & laser show took the audience on a magical journey through the seasons- Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring and working on the land as a Dairy Farmers farmer. Spring brought the finale to life with brilliant colours, flowers, birds and dairy calves so we thought we would have a bit fun with the laser imagery in the waltz scene so the farmer and the cow had a bits of a waltz together around the main arena. The crowd loved it.”
“The Sydney Royal Show is really a great show to work at. The atmosphere is electric and our crew love to work on the Sydney Royal. They work hard each and every day, you get pretty worn out by the end of the show but the roar of the crowd each night makes it all worth it.”
