The inaugural Sydney 500 produced some hot action on the Homebush race track and Howard & Sons produced a spectacular flame show as part of the pre-race entertainment on pit straight.
8 x 12m Firejets were installed along pit straight and a dazzling sequence of firejets was firing in perfect time with the specially commissioned soundtrack to which 400 entertainers including the ‘Tap Pups’ danced whist school children waving flags produces a grid full of colour.
The Howard & Sons team and the event producers faced numerous obstacles working at a brand new event, putting on a entertainment spectacular on a new temporary street racing track, setting up pulling down the firejets in just 20 minutes and using the firejets within 15m of a pit lane full of fuel but all challenges were overcome and the Sydney 500 was tremendous success for Sydney and V8 Supercars.
