Howard & Sons Pyrotechnics are the proud winners of the Bronze Jupiter and the Best Soundtrack Award at the prestigious Montreal International Fireworks Competition and are now taking the show to International Arts and Music Festivals around the world.
The Australian team conceptualized, produced and presented a spectacular 30 minute pyromusical titled ‘Colours of Kakadu’ which featured an amazing live performance from Australia’s leading high energy, didgeridoo and drum performance group eMDee.
This unique concept of dazzling pyrotechnics syncronised to Darwin band eMDee, who performed live on a floating stage in the La Ronde lake, was a huge risk to take but has turned out to be a very rewarding and memorable one for the audience that enjoyed the show.
The huge crowd was cheering, clapping and tapping their feet from the opening scene of the show and when the display concluded with an enormous grand finale, they were all on their feet giving the powerful performance a standing ovation.
Andrew Howard, Director says “Receiving the standing ovation, the amazing response from the crowd during the show and their comments after the show and now being rewarded with the Bronze Jupiter is very satisfying, it makes all the hard work worthwhile knowing that you produced a performance that brought so much enjoyment to so many people. It’s a real buzz.
Our creative designer Stuart Bensley, eMDee performers Mark Hoffmann and Lukas Bendel, our onsite pyrotechnicians Shayne Lewis, Mark Petkidis and Jorgen Enevoldsen all did a great job. Christian Howard, Director making new pyrotechnic products with the entire manufacturing team and our warehouse logistics team all assisted to get the best product and equipment there. The entire team did an amazing job and I think they are going to be kept busy over the coming years showcasing the ‘Colours of Kakadu’ to audiences at arts and cultural festivals who are interested in the show.
This is the second Jupiter that Howard & Sons Pyrotechnics have been awarded at the Montreal International Fireworks Competition, winning the Silver Jupiter in 2008.
